When I change budgeted amounts for a new year in the category tab, does it overwrite budget amounts I’ve entered for previous years? For example, if I budget $1000 for airfare in January 2024 and change it to $0 for January 2025, will the original $1000 budget still show up on the January 2024 Monthly and Yearly Budget pages? I’ve noticed that when I make a retroactive change in the budget amounts on the category page, it seems to stick when I change years. (I’m using the Budget Builder template, which uses a different formula than the standard Category tab to create the budget amounts, but the effect is the same.) Also, if the previously entered budget amounts do persist, where in the sheet do these previous numbers live? Thanks.
A budget change like that shouldn’t change anything in the past, but it will adjust the budget going forward.

You’ll also want to convert the 2024 budget amounts in the Categories sheet from a calculation (pointed to Budget Builder) to just the resulting values by doing a copy, and then paste-values.
