Deleting Rows While Filter Active - Did I Just Screw Up My Spreadsheet?

I use Google Sheets, not Excel

I tried doing an auto feed for an account and it wasn’t working out. I then tried to remove said account from my sheets. I added a filter, highlighted the transactions and just… deleted.

But wait, did I just delete hundreds of rows of data from all accounts, or only the rows in view while the filter was in place. I think it was the latter. How bad did I just mess my sheets up? I can’t even tell…

I’ve panicked about this before. Pretty sure Sheets is smart enough to just delete the filtered rows you intended. If you want to assuage your fears, try restoring your spreadsheet to a few days before and compare the row count and contents.

The first rule in making a mistake…undo. The second rule…if you undo by accident, then… redo. be patient and let it take the time it needs to correct. Don’t stress.
