Do I need temporary account to track store credit

Hi. I hope you’re feeling good today.

I bought an item and then I returned it. Instead of crediting my credit card, they issue me a store credit.
Should I create a new account (“Ace Hardware”, for example) to track this credit?
The refund is not going into cash, nor to the original credit card.
I feel I need some account to put the refund into, and from which to show it going out when I use the credit at that store.

That’s probably the best way to deal with it. I have an Amazon credit card that generates rewards usable on Amazon. I have an “Amazon Rewards” manual account that I use to track the expenditure of those rewards and any returns/credits to those rewards.
