Faster Tiller Money Feeds Performance for Google Sheets

Just adding a couple links to regression failures I noticed that appear related to the new Tiller Money Feeds changes.

And just a little more dark mode feedback
It seems something with how the blue buttons are done differently than the other buttons is causing dark mode to not be respected

Thanks @Mark.S ! Helpful to have these.

I’m aware of the Split Details and Notes thing - we have an item to address this in the queue. Though it seemed like there was a caching issue that was causing some of the issue and I think that Split Details just didn’t get re-implemented.

Also, we didn’t intentionally build for dark mode so I’m not surprised that it doesn’t look great.

Understood, and hopefully my gentle reminders will be considered for a full modern experience
And perhaps it is an easy change to get the white background to respect dark mode :man_shrugging:

heather,

Just received email from support:

Hi Stan,
Thanks for sharing the Community post, I just responded. The tool is working as expected now since our recent updates. The Split Details column was not re-implemented and any split details will populate your Note column when you have one.

Guess this means only Note column will have split details and Split Details will not longer be used. Was hoping it woud go back to how it was originally implemented!

Today we pushed change that re-introduce the Suggestion Rules from Past 90 days and Suggest Rule from Selection options in the AutoCat Rule Builder.

Thanks for the feedback, @sdre. We weren’t sure how many users were leaning on the “Split Details” column since it is somewhat redundant with the content in the Notes column.

We postponed rebuilding that column so we could continue covering ground on the rest of the UX.

Thanks for your feedback. I’m sure @heather, our product manager, saw your note.

Hi, I love the velocity of changes! The reintroduction of suggest rules doesn’t work with the advanced rule builder, as it did before. Previously I’d select a row, suggest a rule, and go to the advanced rule builder to change “Description contains” → “Description equals”. Now if I suggest a rule and go to the “Advanced” pane, the filter criteria and column override are lost. It’d be great if they could be preserved as before, thanks!

Thanks for the kind words and for providing this feedback. We’ll keep this in mind for future updates.

Also is there a way to navigate from the AutoCat rule builder to the AutoCat settings? I go to the rule builder but before clicking “Create Rule & Run AutoCat” I regularly change “Run AutoCat Rules On” from “Only Uncategorized Transactions” → “All Transactions”.

Or, because this setting doesn’t persist from one Tiller Money Feeds launch to the next, instead of navigating to settings to modify the button behavior, could the rule builder include two different buttons? “Create Rule & Run AutoCat on Uncategorized Transactions” and “Create Rule & Run AutoCat on All Transactions”? Or a split button?

Thanks for the feedback and your use case here with that setting. We’ll keep this in mind for a future release as that does make sense

Hi @jack.bates just wanted to let you know we’ve just pushed an update to allow the “suggest from selection” to move from simple to advanced and relocated those buttons. It’s not possible to use the advanced workflow when using suggest from past 90 days as the UI would be much too complex for that.

Dynamite thanks @heather! I see the update and confirm I can once again suggest “From Selection” and change “Description Contains” → “Description Equals”. Also if I change the description or category and toggle back and forth between simple and advanced my changes are preserved as before.

FYI I did spot a glitch if I change “Description Contains” → “Description Equals” and click simple it crashes: TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'criteria') vs. e.g. if I add additional filter criteria or column overrides and toggle between simple and advanced the description and category are preserved — maybe just a missing nullish check?

Also are you still planning a way to navigate directly between the AutoCat rule builder and AutoCat settings? or change “Only Uncategorized Transactions” → “All Transactions” without leaving the rule builder e.g. two different “Create Rule & Run AutoCat” buttons or a split button?

Thanks a lot for this update!

Good catch! I’ll log that bug

We don’t have this in the pipeline just yet but still up for future consideration.
