May I add transactions manually by inserting rows in the transactions sheet?

I have about 40 historical transactions to add from one of my credit card accounts. Using the button ‘+ Add Transaction’ in the Tiller Money Feeds works, but is laborious. I’d like to copy in transactions from the institution (in proper column order of course.)
Two questions:

  1. The only difference between the ‘+ Add Transaction’ feature and my data is that I don’t have a ‘transaction ID.’ What is the value of haing a transaction ID?
  2. The recommended instructions ask me to insert data at the ned of the table. May I insert 40 blank records between my first and second records and then copy the data into that range? Why insert at the bottom of the table?

Yes you can add them manually. Not having a transaction will not impact anything.

And as long as you leave the first row alone, you can enter new transactions wherever you like. I do it regularly
