Unable to split transactions

I use the transaction splitter consistently however last time I went to split a transaction I got an error of “unable to split transaction” and a bunch of blank lines where the split transactions should have been but the original transaction also still existed. I tried multiple times and tried quitting and restarting chrome. any suggestions?
