Considering “hidden” items are not included in reports, how do you utilize/view hidden items once cataloged? As it is now, they seem to virtually disappear. I don’t necessarily want to lose view of my investments but I don’t want them to be included in my budget. Is there some sort of investment view?

Have you tried using a zero-budget category like, “Investment Transactions” for these items, then setting a filter to either exclude or isolate these in your Transactions sheet?
I don’t use Tiller for budgeting so much as I do transparency into spending habits/identifying areas where I can cut down. As of now my investment cataloging for something like a stock purchase is something like:
Stock Purchase → Investment → Transfer → Hide
