I have multiple mutual funds in the same Vanguard account. When dividends are posted, there is not a way to tell which fund the dividends is associated with. Both the description and full description just say Dividend. I use the fund information to project year end dividends since different funds have different foreign transactions, qualified dividends, etc. All the tools i’ve used previously (Quicken, Mint, Empower) provided the fund name in the description. Is there a reason Tiller does not?
I still am transitioning between Empower and Tiller and noticed that Empower has the same issue. I assume that means the issue is on the Vanguard side of the interface.
Both Empower and Tiller use Yodlee as their aggregator, so I suspect the issue might involve how Yodlee processes the data it gets from Vanguard.
We have a Vanguard 410k. For me, the Description and Full Description contain the fund name" “Value Index Fund Inst-dividends on Equity Investments”…etc.
Maybe that’s because it’s from Vanguard’s 401(K) type accounts?
I was getting the full fund name until my last monthly update from Vanguard. I think it might’ve changed on Vanguard’s end.
All of my accounts that have Dividends post the exact same way; it just says “Dividends” but not what it’s attached to (I don’t have Vanguard, and all the other institutions I have do it the same way for whatever reason. Descriptions often change on the regular, so I’m used to it.) I just pull up my account for whatever place it’s from if I happen to have multiple and go by the dollar amount to account for which one is attached to which.
Same here. If I direct-download from Vanguard it contains all info, as before. Just started in July, so something changed w/ how Yodlee is aggregating the data.
This is a new problem that I noticed today, it happened sometime between June and July.
Example:
06/28/2024: in the “Description”, I see:
“Vanguard Federal Money Market Investor Cl-dividend”
07/31/2024, in the “Description” I see:
“Dividend”
I see similar changes also in the “Full Description” column. I will contact support on Monday.
I have contacted Vanguard and they submitted a “Voice of Client” form to their IT department on 8/13/2024.
