Creating A New Column To Further Categorize Transactions

Is there anyway to potentially add another column in the category sheet to further categorize my transactions? I like having both the category and group, but want one more to categorize the transaction as either a want, need, or saving transaction.

You can easily add as many columns as you need, and add classifications that work for you. The problem is that none of the existing templates know anything about that column or what to do with it. Without either creating your own template that looks at that information, or modifying an existing template to look at it, the extra information won’t be used anywhere.

One option to achieve what you’re trying to do is to use tags. Add a tags column to your Transactions sheet, and add tags to transactions, and there are templates (eg. Tags Report) that can use those tags to help further analyze your data.
