I have 55 entries that were imported into my transactions list showing the incorrect date (list below). The day and month are switched, so 2/5/2021 shows as 5/2/2021. All of my other thousands of transactions are in the proper DD/MM/YYYY format.
How can I fix these aside from manually switching the day and month, and does anyone know why it happened (will it happen again)?
I’ve had that happen from time to time. Not sure why but it’s simple enough to get things back in order.
Click on the top of the column above where it says “Date” and it should highlight the entire column. Then click the Format Menu, then Number, and select the appropriate date format.
I did this, but unfortunately it thinks the text is showing MM/DD, so all the format options are just variations of this. None would let me swap the day and month around. I think I may have to fix this manually and hope it doesn’t keep happening!
Edit: I ended up fixing this manually by pasting the following in an empty column, and coping it over the dates: =mid(B137,3,2)&left(B137,2)&“21” where B137 is the date cell.
Not sure why you wouldn’t have the default formats, but you can go to the bottom of that “Number” menu to “More Formats” and create any format you could possibly imagine
