Account balances on the “Balances” tab keep changing the order in which they appear

Account balances on the “Balances” tab keep changing the order in which they appear on that page… Really messes with things.

We have four linked accounts. They always appear in rows 10,11, 12 & 13 on the Balances tab with respective values always in the D column.

So far, so good. However, we link to those account values from the Balances tab (e,g, D10, D11, D12, D13) elsewhere (i.e on an added custom Sheet). When the order they appear on the Balance tab changes, the linked values elsewhere are FUBAR.

I Tried using Named Ranges on the Balances tab (naming the four values there) and calling the values elsewhere by their respective named ranges. But, that didn’t help. When the listing order changes, the named ranges stay put so the linked values are FUBAR.

Questions: Why do those account listing orders keep moving jumping around? How can I make them hold still? Since using named ranges didn’t solve it, how can I reference those values elsewhere when they keep moving around?

Consider using the Accounts sheet instead. The hidden columns have balances and the order only changes if you change the order.

DUH! I’d hidden those columns in the Accounts tab (TMI at the time) so didn’t realize the balances were also there. And that they DIDN’T move around as they do on the Balances tab. .
