if i have a transaction coded for autocat, - say it was a Mobil Gas Station charge which was set up to go to the category Car Expenses - and then decide to change the category from Car Expenses to Transportation Expenses so i set up a new category for Transportation Expenses and I delete Car Expenses from my categories sheet. What happens when autocat tries to run a new Mobil Gas Station charge? Will it categorize it to Car Expenses (resulting in an error?) or will it fail because that category doesnt exist?
@joek I think it will try to use the old category and you’ll have a validation error on the Transactions sheet.
You can either do a Find & Replace for the Category or use the Rename Category tool in the Tiller Community Solutions add-on:
