Am I not understanding how autofill works? I’ve got 4 providers: Vanguard, Wells Fargo, Wealthfront, and Chase. I recently turned on autofill (I haven’t used it since I first joined years ago). When I go to the tillerhq.com console, it seems as though the connected accounts haven’t been pulled from in days, definitely not the 6 hours I recently read. Do I still need to kick off that manually?
Following. I find this perplexing as well
The autofill function fills the data from Tiller into your spreadsheet, this is what had increased to every 6 hours, the refresh of your account data to Tiller is a seperate function. If all of your accounts refresh automatically then as the new data hits Tiller, then it is uploaded into your sheet every 6 hours as opposed to the formerly once a day. I hope this makes a bit more sense?
So we still have to go to the console and refresh each account, but then it gets shoved into our sheets automagically?
Hi @kingsdotter and @cyscaine,
I think you will find the link below helpful for how the basic autofill works and the overall flow of data, refreshes and dependencies.
The new improvements just released, primarily related to autofill for Google Sheets, are described in the following announcement.
So, I’m concerned you need to refresh the accounts manually. My accounts refresh without any intervention from me, unless there’s an issue with the upstream system. You may want to reach out to the support team about that.
Yeah, it looks like only 1 of my 4 accounts will refresh automatically.
Frequent re-authentication or manually refreshing is expected behavior for some institutions. Usually this is due to the bank’s required security settings or agreement with our data provider so there isn’t a way to automatically refresh those accounts.
Some reasons your institution(s) might require manual refreshes:
- Your bank is enforcing multi-factor (MFA) or two-factor (2FA) authentication
- Auto refresh has been disabled for the institution by the bank or our data provider. This setting can change over time based on factors like the bank’s security requirements or refresh health of the institution, but is not something we can change. If it has recently been disabled there is a good chance it will get re-enabled in the future.
