Excel files (on Mac) keep getting corrupted; Tiller Budget file won't let me save

Background- I create(d) a Tiller template and brought in data, am using auto-cat. The file isn’t too big.
Initially things are fine - then the file appears to get corrupted. This is the 3rd one to go bad.

I keep getting this error message:

Errors were detected while saving ‘XXXX/Tiller-Budget 2023 vs2.xlsx’. Microsoft Excel may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in a new file, click Continue.

Then when I continue - it says file not saved.

What would cause this? And how to prevent it from happening.

Welcome, @lynnorme

I’m not 100% sure what would cause this, but it’s a little outside the scope of what we can support as it sounds like more of an Excel/computer issue than a Tiller/Template issue.

Just a note that we only support Excel installed from a Microsoft 365 subscription so if you’re using an older version that could be the issue.

You also might try starting over and then saving it in a different location.

Same issue but on a PC.

Are you using Microsoft 365? That’s what Tiller supports.

I am using Microsoft 365. I seem to have resolved the problem by saving locally. Some thing about saving too many folders in on an IBM can sometimes corrupt files.

Since I started saving essentially on a C drive I haven’t had that issue.
