Each day I access the same browser window and try to update my transactions, I see the sign in window in the Google extension. I have had to do this for about 1-2 weeks now, every day. Anyone else experiencing this?
Yup, I’m having the same experience.
@mu3484343 Matt
I access my template from the console, which I log in and out each day. I don’t experience having to sign in to the Tiller Money Feeds extension. I do have to load it each time. You are getting the sign in for the Tiller Money Feeds extension, correct?
Yep, directly from the extension. I can leave this Tiller Foundation sheet open for weeks without having to re-login to the Google extension, so this is something that’s different/new.
Do you happen to have any browser extension that clears cookies?
Good question. I haven’t changed anything in the Safari/MacOS browser since this started happening.
I’m using Chrome on Windows, no extensions that clear cookies, don’t recall any changes to my setup that might affect this.
I only asked because I made the mistake of turning on a browser extension to limit cookies and it messed everything up for my Tiller access.
I haven’t noticed this, but I don’t normally manually run Tiller Money Feeds every day, just occasionally. Auto-fill handles most of what I want on a daily basis. Maybe auto-fill access every early morning keeps everything active
Tiller Money Feeds opened this morning for me without a login prompt, just ready to use.
I use Chrome on Windows and shut down my computer every night, and power it up in the morning. I have hibernate disabled, so it’s a true shut down. All my Chrome browser tabs are remembered and loaded from the previous Chrome session - Tiller and a bunch of other tabs retain their active logins.
But, I’ll keep a lookout on this to see if I start experiencing it, as well.
I’m getting it multiple times per day. When I try to sign back in, I get the error:
I have to refresh the page and then it I can sign back in again.
Happening to me, too. Same error. And I fix it the same way by refreshing the page. Used to be able to just keep the Tiller add-on open endlessly, but no more.
I still haven’t encountered any issues using Tiller Money Feeds recently.
I don’t leave it running all the time, though … I’ll perform the task I want to do and close the extension.
Here’s another occurrence of @jpfieber 's error message for reference:
Well, a little update from my end now: Every time I go back into my google sheet, the tiller extension has timed out, so I have to refresh the sheet, relaunch Tiller, and re-log in so that I don’t get the error (so, at least once a day now). I personally, unlike Mark above, would prefer to have Tiller just running at all times, as my money spreadsheet is always up (I’m forcing myself to constantly look at every penny I spend and should be totally debt-free in a few months as a result), but different strokes…
Happening to me as well in the way you both have described. The bandaid solution is also the way you described.
Same here. Just started happening 10 days ago or so. I haven’t changed any browser settings. I use Microsoft Edge.
Thanks for starting this thread. We’ll get this logged for our team to look into.
For greater context, our product team prioritizes bugs, issues, and requests based on the severity of the issue and how many customers are impacted or requesting this feature. To provide insight on expectations, issues like this may not be actioned for many months or at all if it’s not a widespread issue. That timeline is based on the team’s current existing log of issues and upcoming feature releases which is subject to change.
Thanks, @heather. From my perspective, this is more of an odd annoyance than anything, which is just to say that I fully endorse having this lower on the priority list than some other issues of higher consequence.
Thanks @dmetiller - we don’t have it marked as urgent at this time and the team did investigate and found that there is a possibly related error/log message coming through quite a bit, but it’s not happening to everyone (I can’t reproduce) and could be due to something Google changed rather than something we changed and can control.
I do think it may have something to do with leaving the add-on open in the browser rather than closing it and re-opening each time, would be worth experimenting a bit on that for those of you who are experiencing the issue.
I’ve been experiencing the same bug for at least a week, maybe two. Definitely annoying. I have to refresh my browser and then login to Google again each morning. No add-ons that would be clearing cookies.
I have observed a small variety of OS platforms and browsers being used. Windows, Mac, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, MS Edge.
If it possible to share, it might be helpful to know the following:
Is there an official list of supported OS and browsers?
What browsers and OS platforms are used during regression testing?
