Hi @loudsteve - In the Tiller console beside Autocat there is a small gear icon you can click to access settings and enable Autocat to run on a fill.
One side-effect resulting from filling new transactions by inserting rows at the top (starting above Row 2) is that range references that a user may have built in other sheets would be altered. For example, if another sheet has a formula with range reference Transactions!A2:A or Transactions!$A$2:$A, then after a fill of 10 rows inserted above Row2, these formulas will automatically update to Transactions!A12:A and Transactions!$A$12:$A. One remedy might be for the fill to do insertions after Row 2, otherwise the user must be aware and convert their formulas to INDIRECT references. Same for any references to the Balance History sheet.
Thanks @KyleT we’re investigating the formula references issue (shout out to @jono for first reporting that) and will most likely revert back to inserting rows at the bottom.
@bentyre1 I’ll reach out to you via our support tool about the fill still crashing on you
Thank you. I’m always shocked how many capabilities actually exist, just sometimes they are a little hard to find.
@KyleT we just pushed an update that reverts back to adding new rows at the bottom then sorting to the top so this should fix the formula reference issue reported here. Let me know if that doesn’t also fix this
Sometimes it can take several minutes for the update to make it all the way through (caching issues) and you’ll definitely want to make usre you refresh your spreadsheet browser window
This isn’t unique to Fill - Manual Transaction already inserts rows above row 2.
Generally, solutions build text ranges and use INDIRECT, which is unaffected by inserting above row 2.
Recently I’ve been getting very many duplicate rows in Transactions. Could this update be the cause?
Hmm. I got annoying duplicates, too, this morning, but hadn’t made this possible connection…
@andrei and @dmetiller can you please write into support about this one? We’ll need the transaction IDs associated with the duplicates you’re seeing. Transaction ID is usually a hidden column out right.
If the Transaction IDs are the same, then there could be an issue with the fill that’s causing the duplicates. If the Transaction IDs are unique then these are duplicates introduced by our aggregator.
Thanks, @heather. It happened both yesterday and today–dozens of duplicates. I’ve already gone through and deleted them all, so I’ll have to wait to see if it happens again to look at the Transaction IDs.
@dmetiller you can also look at the version history and make a copy of a prior version before you deleted them to check the IDs. I’d love to know if this is an issue with the fill we need to address promptly. Thanks!
Hi, @heather . Looks like the Transaction IDs are unique, so an issue with Yodlee?
Yes, Transaction IDs are the same. In fact I have code that detects duplicate transaction IDs and marks the duplicates. Every morning I wake up for the past few days, I find many duplicates, I remove them, then I see them again the next morning.
Is this feature available in Excel also? Would we even know it happens?
I would agree! For example, is there a simple list of the templates that are available for excel or do we just need to spend some time in show and tell?
A post was split to a new topic: Latest transactions haven’t pulled from Chase
@andrei can you please write into support about this so we can investigate further?
Just write to support@tillerhq.com directly and let them know you’re working with me on a duplicates issue possible related to the recent Google Sheets fill updates and send along a few pairs of transaction IDs for duplicates that you’re seeing fill into your spreadsheet.
@dmetiller, yes if the Transaction IDs are unique then this is a yodlee issue and you should write into the support via Chat from the Console and the team will troubleshoot those with you. Usually they clear up on their own within about a week so unless it’s been happening for more than a week and the most recent duplicates are in the last few days then maybe wait on reaching out as they’ll likely just tell you the same thing and ask you to wait
@rwegs1 Can you clarify which feature you’re referring to? Also, if you have questions about templates please start a new topic for that so we can keep this on topic about the fill updates.
@heather thanks, will do but not before tomorrow because (a) before having seen your message I wrote this post, and (b) I’ve also cleaned up Transactions by removing all duplicates.
hey @andrei I need you to write into support for this one, can’t troubleshoot via community on this one. Thanks! It’s likely just that your fill is crashing and introducing duplicates. It seems we haven’t quite solved this issue with the fill crashing that this change was originally supposed to be addressing.
@andrei since you’re seeing multiple duplicates of the same transaction when you come online in the morning this is likely due to the Auto Fill running multiple times a day and the fill crashing. I’d recommend turning off the Auto Fill for the time being to prevent additional duplicates from automatically making it into the sheet. We’re investigating why the fill is still crashing for some cases.
