We made a lot of changes in the last few months to improve and clean up the design for the Tiller Money Feeds add-on for Google Sheets, but we haven’t forgotten about Excel!
Since early July we’ve been working on implementing the new design in the Excel version of Tiller Money Feeds.
Today we’ve released an updated home screen and the split transactions tool is now FINALLY available in Microsoft Excel too!
We’re still working on transitioning some of the other tools and pages to mirror the Google Sheets version and those changes will be released as they’re ready over the next several weeks. We’ll reply to this topic when updates are released.
Tripped over the new add-in this afternoon. Love it. Then went searching for the Tiller site details. very nice job. Love that you are working to add similar functionality to MS Excel as found in Google Sheets.
@roger8w the tools are just now available on the home screen of the add-in vs being in a separate tools menu. Here’s a quick visual to help you orient:
Today I had 3 new rows of data added but the message said 62 updates filled. Is there a way to see what is being updated?
Also, I have an autocat sheet. It worked yesterday other than the issue I reported regarding the first add row in transactions. This morning for autocat it says “create Autocat sheet”
@buzzmaster1 When I updated today the message was 5 updates filled. I did not receive any new transactions. On my balances tab in the Updated column I see Today on my 5 active accounts. So that would account for my 5 updates. But, your 62 updates is something else for sure.
Actually, that probably explains it. I was thinking that fill referred only to the transaction sheet. I have a ton of accounts so balance updates explain it. It would be nice if the message had the number of transaction updates and balance updates separately.
Still having the issue that yesterday the first row was not impacted by AutoCat and then today, the fact that I have an AutoCat sheet is not even recognized.
I just ran my update (WIndows/Excel) and AutoCat updated my first row.
In the past, before this new Money feeds update, I had a number of times when AutoCat didn’t update at all. It took me awhile to figure out how to make Autocat logic and rules work for my needs.
I determined that I had too many match qualifiers for a transaction. I’m not sure if that is a bug or what, but when I simplified the match criteria it worked. One change I made was removing an entry in the “Institution Contains” column. I just use the “Account Contains” column rather than both. It might be too much to have both???. IDK.
Also, maybe there is a blank entered in one of the cells in the first row? I’d try a change to make a new first row. That first row may be throwing everything off.
Hi Clint,
I have not had issues with autocat in the past. A new first row gets created when I fill and they look fine as I go through each cell. I have not made any changes to my autocat recently. I am unable to work on this any further since now I am being prompted to create an autocat sheet in the new money feeds dialogue even though I still have my autocat sheet.
@buzzmaster1 Ken, I was referring to a new first row in the AutoCat table in case I wasn’t clear. So, getting prompted to create an AutoCat sheet certainly is strange. @heather This sounds like a bug.
