So I am brand new to Tiller, working on getting everything setup and I am simply trying to make a column bigger to show category contents - not moving it, or changing anything else about it other than make it wider so I can see the entire category name at once. When I try this, I get the following message:
Heads Up!
You’re trying to edit part of this sheet that shouldn’t be changed accidentally. Edit anyway?
I assume this is OK to edit, but just wanted to be sure. Not sure why column size would change anything.
Thanks,
Mike

That’s a standard warning that Tiller gives whenever you modify anything in the structure of your transactions sheet. It’s just meant to force us to think twice before we do anything catastrophic. Changing the size of a column is not catastrophic.

If you feel comfortable enough with editing the page and are aware of the implications if you edit or remove something that’s integral to the functionality of Tiller, then you can remove that warning altogether.
On the sheet with the warning, just go to Data - Protect Sheets and Ranges. Delete the entry that’s present. That’s the last time you will see that message for that particular sheet. Keep in mind that you will have to do this on any sheet that you want to remove the warning.

Thank you for posing this question! I had been ignoring those “Heads Up!” warnings and was somewhat confident I wasn’t breaking anything. Glad to read your question and the replies to confirm this.

Thanks for this tip. I. Really comfortable with Sheets and Excel; however, not with the templates yet so it will be awhile before iI’d even think about this. It’s not even really that annoying. Probably good to have that check stub most of the time.

Hi @g2kk9phx thanks for reaching out here on this, welcome to Tiller! We suggest that you leave the warning in there as @dmetiller stated it’s there to ensure you’re certain of the changes you’re due to make. Just in case!
