Docs: Net Worth Snapshot

This sheet is meant to help monitor and compare your Net Worth and can supplement the existing Net Worth, Accounts, and Balances sheet to give you greater information on how your Net Worth is changing.

The new sheet shows your Net Worth on any selected day. It looks for the most recent account balance for all your accounts in the Balance History sheet based on the selected day.

In addition to viewing just one day, you can compare your Net Worth on any two selected days. Put the earlier date on the top Reference Date row and the later date in the Comparison Date row. Then you will get accurate balance Amount Changes and Percent Changes in chart as well.

How to install

Quickly add a Net Worth Snapshot sheet to any Tiller-powered Google Sheet using the Tiller Community Solutions add-on.

  1. Install the Tiller Community Solutions add-on
  2. Open the add-on and choose “Net Worth” from the Tags dropdown on the Explore tab
  3. Click on Net Worth Snapshot
  4. Choose “Add to spreadsheet”

How it works

There are only two main settings to get the sheet to work:

  • Options for Reference Date include End of Last Year, Today, 12 Months Ago, or any custom date.
  • Options for the Comparison Date include Today, None, or a custom date.

The sheet needs to make a lot of calculations to display the results, so if you make any changes, give the sheet a moment before seeing the new results update.

There are some extra options in the hidden columns to the right. To use, un-hide the those columns. You can decide whether you want to remove blank rows after Account Groups. You can group the report to Account Groups or Types. And you can decide whether to show or hide the Groups or Types.
